Meet Dr. Maher
Crossroads Holistic Health Center is proud to introduce our newest member of the Crossroads team...
...Dr. John Maher.
About Dr. Maher, D.C., D.C.B.C.N., B.C.I.M.
My purpose is to provide you with an alternative approach to obtaining and maintaining optimal health and energetic wellness by natural means, without the use of drugs or surgery. When medical treatments are unavoidable, I will then provide you with an option of an integrated approach. Finally, my purpose is to be an answer to those of you who have not yet found a solution to your health concern and think (wrongly) “you have tried everything”.
In the summer of 1948 in Brooklyn, N.Y., John Henry Maher was born the first child of Jack and Betty Maher. He grew up on Long Island, NY, graduating in 1973 from NYSU with a degree in primary education and social psychology. That same year he moved to Southern California, graduating valedictorian from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1978. In 1981 he married his still lovely bride, Linda. He was voted Best Chiropractor in San Diego in 1984. Three years later, Dr. Maher, or ‘Doc’ as his teammates came to call him, began playing Men’s Senior League Baseball, going on to win 7 National Championship MSBL World Series over the next 22 years.
In 1988, he and Linda had their first child, Lee. The following year Dr. Maher became a founding member of the Temporo-Mandibular Association (TMJ specialty). In 1991, he became one of the first doctors to receive board certification in pain management (D.A.A.P.M.) In December of that year , Linda and John had their second child, Halle. Later in the 1990’s, Dr. Maher was chosen to a post graduate faculty position in Anti-Aging through New York Chiropractic College, preparing chiropractors for certification in non-pharmaceutical anti-aging medicine. Dr. Maher was the first non M.D. to pass those anti-aging boards through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
From 2002 to 2010, Dr. Maher was the Health and Wellness columnist for Dynamic Chiropractic, which boasts a circulation to almost every licensed chiropractor in the world. In 2006, Dr. Maher became a Fellow of the American Association of Integrative Medicine and a Diplomate of the College of Clinical Nutrition. In 2009, he garnered board certification in Integrative Medicine (B.C.I.M.) and Clinical Nutrition. (D.C.B.C.N.) He continues his education, having completed in the fall of 2010 both the Basic and Intermediate Trainings in Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) and having started his advanced training which he hopes to complete in 2013.
Crossroads Holistic Health Center is both happy and proud to now have a doctor of Dr. Maher’s experience and training as part of our team. He began accepting new patients as of Dec. 13, 2010. In January 2011, Dr. Maher is giving free lectures on natural health here in Valley Center.
